This suite is an exploration of mood. By harmonizing deep, atmospheric blues with subtle, tactile textures, I’ve created a space that feels less like a hotel and more like a refined escape—an intentional, cinematic backdrop for deep rest and quiet reflection.
OBJECTIVE
I designed this suite as a cinematic retreat from the city. By blending moody, tranquil tones with rich textures, I created a sanctuary that feels deeply personal—an invitation to unplug, reset, and simply breathe.
Approach:
Chromatic Harmony: I curated a layered palette of slate grays and deep, tranquil blues to establish the room's identity. This cool-toned combination acts as a visual "cool-down" from the bustle of the city, creating an atmosphere of immediate, soothing serenity.
Tactile Layers: To ensure the cool palette felt inviting rather than sterile, I focused on layering rich textures. From plush velvet headboards to crisp, high-thread-count linens and smooth stone surfaces, the mix adds depth and makes the suite feel like a cozy, luxury hideaway.
Atmospheric Lighting: I designed the lighting to be the room's heartbeat. Using hidden ambient strips, soft bedside sconces, and targeted task lighting, I ensured guests can effortlessly shift the room’s mood—from bright and energized to dim, cinematic, and ready for sleep.
